Chloramine update – 9/8/16
From our BCCY Aquatics Director today:
“After receiving complaints regarding air quality in the pool last night, we discovered this morning that one of our compressors was not functioning properly and needed to be reset. We reset the compressor and will keep an eye on it daily moving forward. We also increased the amount of fresh air coming into the pool area so that a greater percentage of the air is fresh outside air. We will also be adjusting our chemicals to reduce the chloramines (this is what give you the eye burning sensation) and will have our staff regularly check and adjust the chloramine level. Finally, we’ve determined that to further improve the air quality during swim team, we will allow the coaches to open the doors.
