New swimmer safety measure…

Parents,

In an effort to continually improve our swim team and the safety of all swimmers we are making a change that will begin this coming Monday, 10/17/16. Beginning Monday, all parents must sign in their swimmers upon arrival to practice and sign out their swimmer once practice is over. In an effort to avoid congestion, sign in/out will take place on the pool patio. Swimmers will not be permitted to enter and exit through the lobby doors.

We are looking for volunteers for each time slot to be in charge of the sign in sign out station. If you are available to volunteer, please let me know!

Further, moving forward, if a swimmer needs to use the restroom during practice, they will check out with a volunteer on the pool deck before going to the restroom and then check back in before continuing with practice.

Swimmers that are old enough to be in the facility without a parent present (13 years or older) may sign themselves in and out as long as we have email consent from their parent. If you anticipate your child signing themselves in or out at any given time over the course of the season, please email Kayla Keoughan and kayla.keoughan@ymcafw.org.

Please note that beginning Monday, if a child is not signed in by their parent (unless there is written consent for those 13 and older), they will not be allowed to practice.

We appreciate your assistance with our new policy.

Thank you!

  1. Written consent form to be provided or just write a note?

  2. What’s the full email address for Kayla?

  3. I hope this is an appropriate way to respond. We are always there early. Emily comes in to practice before practice. She is also fixing to start private lessons. I am available to sign the kids in and out for each practice for the 4 to 4:45 practice.

Full email address for Kayla is kayla.keoughan@ymcafw.org. Sorry about that!

Michele, please contact Kayla and let her know you would like to volunteer! Thanks!

  6. Jacquelyn, looks like it is okay to simply email Kayla for the 13+ sign-in/out consent, is that correct?

  7. Jacquelyn Kotar

Yes, that is correct. Her email is kayla.keoughan@ymcafw.org

    Thanks!

  8. I have a question about this. will the swimmers be allowed to enter the pool area through the locker room? When I drop Hannah off, she goes directly to the locker room to change and enters the pool from there. will she now have to walk all the way around the building to the patio outside? Seems a bit silly when the locker room is right there.

  9. Jacquelyn, just to confirm, we are asking all swimmers to enter via the patio now, and unless 13+ and approved via email to Kayla, parents must sign them in? Thank you!
