Highland Park meet results

Hello Barracudas! I posted these results but never got to send an email with it. So I thought I would send them again to make sure everyone saw them. We had another great meet. I’m really impressed with how our new swimmers are coming along and with how our more seasoned swimmers are swimming. Lots and lots of time was dropped at our last meet. Your kids are working hard and listening well to their coaches.

Some special mentions about the meet:

Congratulations to the couple swimmers who broke team records!

Carson Verlander broke yet another one in his last meet in the 8&under age group. He broke the 8&u team record for the 50 freestyle swimming it in a fast 36:62.

Hannah Farmer broke 3 team records this last month. At the UIL State Championship she swam the 50 free in 24:03 (placing 5th overall, as a freshman). This time puts her as the 3rd fastest 15 year old in the YMCA league in the nation! And 19th fastest in the entire country (USA and Y) for 15 year olds. Congratulations, Hannah! She also placed 6th at the high school state championships in the 100breaststroke with a 1:06.62. She also broke our team record for the 100IM in our 15-21 age group. Possibly the more amazing part of this is that she did all of that without being able to practice fully for the last several months.
**Special request re Hannah…She has been diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and will undergo surgery on Monday, March 13 to correct the problem. She will spend 3 days in the hospital. If you are of the praying sort, please pray for a successful surgery and a speedy (and not too painful) recovery. Hopefully, with a successful surgery, we can get her back to the water (and team) she loves and swimming faster than ever.**

It is such a joy to coach your kids!

See you at the pool! Hopefully soon!!
