Summer practice schedule!
Hello Barracudas! I am attaching a pdf which includes the updated summer practice schedule. As in each previous year, the schedule is slightly convoluted but there is a method to my madness! Thanks so much for your patience as it isn’t “nice and neat” but I do believe it gives us some great options, more lanes, and extra practice time – and even better, at no extra cost to you!
As always, never hesitate to contact me with any questions.
Lots of swimmers have asked us to do TAT (Total Athlete Time) again this summer so we plan to do that. That will be Mondays at Westside at 11am starting June 5. If you have no idea what TAT is don’t worry, I’ll send more out about that as it gets closer.
Remember, in order to qualify for Lone Star (and we want ALL of you there to defend our State Championship title!), each swimmer must have competed in two meets since January 1. For most of you that won’t be a problem as you’ve already done that. But for those of you who have not, you will have plenty of opportunities, beginning with our league championship April 22/23 (info on blog). Also, we will have 6 meets in the summer, beginning on May 21 and then every Saturday in June.
Some exciting news is that we might get to host our very first meet in June! If any of you know of some starting blocks sitting around somewhere that we could have for the Westside Y we would be very excited about that! (We have 1, so we need 5 more!)
My assistant coaches and I are having a great time coaching your kids. Your kids are a blast and are doing SO well. Everyone has improved so much. Thank you for entrusting them to us! I have had multiple Y members who are in no way affiliated with our team tell me what great kids we have on our team. I agree!! Such a privilege to be their coach.
See you at the pool!
