Richardson Meet Info finally here! Champs Meet change
Hi Barracudas! The Richardson meet info is here! They extended our deadline slightly since they got us the info so late. So the deadline for entries is now Tuesday morning by 11am. Please use the entry form on the blog to send in entries. Only two meets left before Lone Star so if you have only competed in one meet since January 1 you need one more. If you have not yet competed in a meet, be sure to get these last two in so that you can do Lone Star!
LONE STAR INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS!! The wonderful Bianca Hackney has agreed to lead two informational meetings this coming Friday! One at Westside in the morning (9am) and one at 6:15pm at Benbrook! She will explain this crazy thing called Lone Star and will answer every question you can possibly come up with. She’s a pro!!!
We have this meet plus our Champs Meet (which has been CHANGED, FYI!! see below) to qualify for Lone Star. Please be tracking your kids’ times to see where they are. It’s much easier for you to track your kids’ times than for me to track 192 kids’ times. =) When you send in entries, please please make a note if you are choosing an event specifically to qualify so that I don’t change that event. Because at this point, my default is to make sure your swimmer has times in as many events as possible so that they are qualified to compete in the maximum events (10) allowed at Lone Star.
Champs Meet change! We originally were going to do something new this summer which was to have a Fort Worth league championship. The thought was that we could have it at the Granbury Y and compete against the Granbury team as well as the few Fort Worth teams. However, we learned that the Granbury team won’t be there so we thought it best to go ahead and go to Dallas to compete against the Dallas teams for our Champs meet. We look at the Champs meet as a great last training run before Lone Star, so we want to be going against the best competition we can. The benefit of this change is that it will now be a two day meet (July 8 and 9), which means more events available to continue (last chance actually) to try to qualify for Lone Star.
It’s an absolute joy to coach your kids!
See you at the pool!!
