Meet Coach Bug

Jennifer Lipp, aka “Coach Bug”, grew up in Athens, OH and earned her degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Kentucky.  She is a lifelong athlete, excelling in swimming and basketball while growing up, and was Ohio state triathlon age group champion for several years during and after college.

Coach Bug is a YMCA, USA and AAU certified swim coach.  Head coach of the Barracudas since 2012, she combines a unique balance of caring, character, and competitive excellence.  The program has grown tremendously under her leadership – the Barracudas have now won 13 straight YMCA DFW league championships and won their third straight YMCA Lone Star state championship in July 2018.  Her swimmers are competing at Y Nationals and Speedo Sectionals, setting YMCA state meet records, competing and earning honors at high school regional and state meets, as well as at the AAU Junior Olympic Games.  Some are now swimming at the collegiate level.

She is happily married to her husband, Chris, and is a proud mom of three wonderful kids.
